"Raising the salaries for teachers raises the quality of life for everyone."

What I find most troubling about your article, however, is that your arguments nearly squeeze out the best reason for increased teacher pay. High teacher salaries would fill our schools with well-qualified and enthusiastic teachers. Those schools would fill our communities with thoughtful and creative citizens. Those citizens would become the entrepreneurs, artists, healers, and leaders that could make America the light of the world. Raising the salaries for teachers raises the quality of life for everyone. That’s the only argument this taxpayer has ever needed to hear, but it makes only a cameo appearance in your article on this important issue.

Truly yours,
